American Rescue Plan is Historic Victory for Marylanders
MARYLAND — Today, Thursday, March 11, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law. The comprehensive $1.9 trillion relief package championed by Democrats will take on the COVID-19 pandemic and build our country back better.
“The American Rescue Plan is a huge victory for Talbot County, the State of Maryland, and all of America. We are proud to stand with President Biden, Senators Cardin and Van Hollen, our Democratic House Members, and the Democratic Party who made this massive relief package possible,” said Patrick Firth, Chair of the Talbot County Democratic Party. “In Maryland, we are set to receive $3.87 Billion in direct funding, with an additional $1.173 Billion going to our counties and $1.14 Billion to our cities. Locally, Talbot County is set to receive over $7 million in direct funding and the Town of Easton will receive over $13.9 million to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“Without a doubt, the American Rescue Plan is the most significant piece of legislation to benefit working people in this country in modern history. Yet while we have made great strides tonight, our work has only just begun. We look forward to continuing the work to build back better together. I sincerely hope you will join us.”
