Political Scholars Internship Program
Overview.
The Talbot County Democratic Party is proud to offer very exciting opportunities for talented and dedicated students interested in gaining experience in the fast-paced world of politics, political organizing, and local activism. The Party is seeking to fill unpaid internship roles at its headquarters in Easton, as well as remotely. This is an outstanding opportunity to get hands-on experience working in the office of a local political party and contribute to the success of all our Democratic candidates and positions. If mentorship and professional development are what you are looking for, this internship is for you.

Duties.
This is more than your standard internship. Your job will not be comprised of coffee runs and printing jobs – you’re doing the hands-on work that our team will review and our supporters will receive. In addition to various administrative support expected out of every internship program, the responsibilities of our interns can include:
Campaign Research
Voter Outreach
Data Entry
Assistance with local campaign events
Special Projects
Content compilation for digital platforms
Standard Internship Seasons.
These dates are relatively fluid. Additionally, internships may be extended on a case-by-case basis.
Spring Session: March – May
Summer Session: June – August
Fall Session: September – November
Winter Session: December – February
Qualifications.
Applicants must be:
A registered Democrat or an individual who identifies as a Democrat
Trustworthy and responsible
Able to communicate effectively with others and work well in a team-focused environment
Flexible to the fast-paced nature of the world of political organizing
Able to work on multiple tasks at once

Interested applicants should submit a resume and short essay (no more than one page) to office@talbotdems.org. The essay should cover why you are a Democrat and what you seek to get out of an internship with your local Party.
Lack of a resume is not a disqualifying factor – part of the internship will be in building your resume and growing professional development skills.
