NOTE: The Talbot Democratic Party has not taken any position on ballot questions of the 2022 election.

State Ballot Questions

  • Question 1: Renames the Maryland Court of Appeals to the Supreme Court of Maryland and the Maryland Court of Special Appeals to the Appellate Court of Maryland

  • Question 2: Requires Howard County Circuit Court judges to serve on the Orphans' CourtzAmends the Maryland Constitution to require that state legislators reside and maintain a place of abode in the district in which they wish to represent for six months prior to the date of election

  • Question 3: Amends the Maryland Constitution to increase the amount in controversy in civil proceedings in which the right to a jury trial may be limited by legislation from $15,000 to $25,000

  • Question 4: Amends the Maryland Constitution to legalize adult-use recreational marijuana and direct the legislature to pass law for the use, distribution, regulation, and taxation of marijuana

  • Question 5: Requires Howard County Circuit Court judges to serve on the Orphans' Court

Local Ballot Questions

  • Question A: The members of the Talbot County Council currently receive $14,400 per year, with the Council President receiving an additional $1,000 per year. This proposed amendment authorizes an increase for members to $23,000 per year, with the Council President receiving an additional $1,000 per year.

  • Question B: This proposed amendment removes the stated County Council compensation from the County Charter and allows the Talbot County Council, with at least a four-fifths vote, to adjust compensation.
